Richard Moore,

Pastor 

Richard grew up in California and Arizona. He sensed God’s call to ministry early in life. After graduating from High School, he felt God lead him to attend Northwestern College in northwest Iowa. Upon earning a degree in Christian Education with a Youth Ministry Emphasis he moved to Ankeny, Iowa, and married Sarah in December of 2006. After leading a youth ministry for 5 and a half years, Richard felt God directing him into pastoral ministry. Stepping out in faith Richard became an intern at Timberline Church in Urbandale, Iowa while pursuing his Master degrees. The spring of 2012 brought the opportunity to serve as the pastor of Woodlands Creek a senior ministry of Timberline. In October of 2013 they welcomed their son, Wesley into the world. After a little over 3 years God extended a call through Bluff Hall, which he and Sarah joyfully accepted. Richard and Sarah began serving in June of 2015. Sadly, the Lord called Sarah home in July of 2017. God was gracious throughout this trial and in 2019 brought Laurel into Richard’s life. After 2 years of courtship Richard and Laurel were married at Bluff Hall in October of 2021.

Richard holds a Master of Theology (2014) and Master of Divinity (2016) from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, MN. He also hold a certificate of Ministry Licensure through the EFCA National Office.
